In honour of Quelfire’s putty pad classification report release, Alec Purdie talks about the test evidence that we have for our Acoustic Intumescent Putty Pads.

We have test evidence for putty pads in plastic socket boxes and now also in metal socket boxes up to a depth of 47mm fixed with metal caddy bracket.

Typically, most manufacturers test cable conduits up to 16mm; however, we have tested details for up to 50mm conduits.

We have a detail where it can go directly through a single-skin plasterboard wall, and have also tested it in conjunction with our QuelStop Fire Batt.

One of the details seen in the video is a pattress-fitted fire batt with our QuelStop HPE Sealant around the outside of a conduit.

Alec Purdie demonstrates various compound details, including the QWR Fire Collar and QWW Wrap for plastic pipes. Additionally, we’ve highlighted two applications utilising our QuelCoil Wrap: one for a plastic pipe and another for an insulated metal pipe. Lastly, we have cables on cable trays where the compound is poured directly to the service penetration.
