Our R&D team have been working on developing and testing more solutions for service penetrations which provide both 120 minutes integrity and insulation. We have tested copper and steel pipes up to 108mm diameter with continuous sustained rockfibre insulation (25 to 50mm thick). This is with a minimum 120kg/m3 density, utilising a double layer of QuelStop Fire Batt and QuelStop Acrylic Sealant installed directly up to the rockfibre insulation. We also have scope of application for this detail when the pipes are installed at an angle through the fire wall.
