QFFDW Rockwool Foil-faced Rock Fibre Insulation is a lightweight, flexible insulation roll with a density of 45kg/m3 and a reinforced aluminium foil face. It enhances insulation ratings, especially where an EI fire rating is required for services with high metallic content.
QFFDW Foil-faced Rock Fibre Insulation is required in certain applications to improve the insulation rating when an EI fire rating is required, in particular when services have a high metallic content.

Foil-faced Rock Fibre Insulation is usually wrapped around the services butting up to the fire seal (locally interrupted), as shown on Quelfire Standard Installation Details. Ends and overlaps can be sealed with Self-adhesive Foil Tape (FOILTAPE), and 1.6mm gauge Galvanised Steel Wire (STEELWIRE) should be used to secure it around the services.
