‘Because It’s Your Job to Know’ Campaign Wins Campaign of the Year at the FSM 2025 Awards

Recognised as Campaign of the Year!

Exciting news! On Thursday 5 June, 2025, we were awarded Campaign of the Year 2025 at the Fire & Security Matters Awards.

The campaign – Because It’s Your Job to Know

Hosted at the Coventry Building Society Arena in Coventry, the evening celebrated the achievements across the fire and security sectors, while promoting the importance of innovation and quality.

Because It’s Your Job to Know was launched in 2024, placing responsibility on the construction industry to design and build in line with test evidence and manufacturer guidance.

Its messaging reaches all those involved in the design and construction of buildings, highlighting that it is everyone’s responsibility to understand how they impact firestopping, and why it is critical.

At the same time, the campaign promotes a culture of competency and collaboration. It recognises that no one person can know everything, and encourages industry professionals to reach out if they need support in firestopping. There is a wealth of information, resources, and expertise out there!

Complementing the campaign is the white paper on ‘Early Engagement in Firestopping’ – a topic we are highly passionate about here at Quelfire. It features best practices that can save lives and reduce construction delays and costs.

It also covers topics such as:

  • How disasters have led to changes in legislation
  • What is early engagement, and why does it matter?
  • Who needs to be involved, and at which RIBA stage?
  • Why is the competency of all parties important?
  • What does the early engagement process involve, and how can it be standardised?

Hayley Clay, Marketing Manager, said:

“We’re incredibly proud to have won Campaign of the Year at the FSM Awards! Because It’s Your Job to Know was developed to get the industry talking – encouraging earlier, more informed decisions around firestopping. It’s brilliant to see that message recognised by the judges and the wider industry. Huge thanks to everyone who helped to bring the campaign to life – we couldn’t have achieved this without the support, passion and collaboration of everyone involved.”

We would like to extend our congratulations to all the winners, finalists, and shortlisted teams, and offer special thanks to Team SLG Agency for their ongoing support.
