We’ve seen it time and again: firestopping only being addressed months after construction is underway, usually once M&E works are already in place. Considering firestopping this late into a project results in improvised fixes, on-site clashes, rising costs, and compliance risks.
But early engagement turns this around.
By bringing Quelfire in at the initial design stage, firestopping becomes part of the plan, not a last-minute patch. Tested details can be applied, coordination achieved across all trades, and costly rework can be avoided.
This project is a great example of collaboration and early engagement in firestopping. As preferred supplier, we have worked with McGoff Group and their architects to identify appropriately tested solutions at the early stages, incorporating them into the design. That design has then been effectively communicated to all the relevant trades.
