Collaboration to Strengthen Fire Safety

The construction industry is forever changing.

With new regulations, updated best practices, and additional firestopping solutions on the market, collaboration is more important than ever.

Quelfire, known for their reliable firestopping solutions, and Ark Fire Protection, dedicated to compliant installations, have teamed up. Their partnership shows the value of working together to improve fire safety across various projects.

A recent collaboration between the two companies took place near Kings Cross, London, on a Bouygues UK site.

Quelfire provided product and CPD training on Effective Passive Fire Protection for site staff, site managers, and contracts managers.

This training ensures compliance. It also supports staff with the latest knowledge and skills to install firestopping products based on test evidence.

Regular training in the construction industry

No matter an individual’s experience, construction is complex, and challenges will arise – especially regarding service penetration sealing.

Regular training is important: it helps teams gain the right knowledge. This knowledge supports their work on-site and helps them make quality, informed decisions.

Quelfire’s CPD training addresses various topics, from the latest regulations to installation techniques.

As a result, this builds a culture of ‘safety first’ and sets the foundation for the project.

This is especially important for higher-risk developments where, if fire safety is not made a priority, the impact of fire could be fatal.

Working in partnership

When working on any building project, all parties need to be aligned. The working relationship between Quelfire, Ark Fire Protection, and Bouygues UK is a primary example of project success through collaboration.

Since everyone shares the same mission, it allows for good communication and quality assurance. This helps ensure firestopping is correct the ‘first time around.

Additionally, it ensures any major challenges are solved during the design stage – leading to no hidden costs or construction delays.

Once construction commences, it’s then time to stick to the agreed plan

What makes this collaboration stand out is the trust to deliver. For instance, Ark Fire Protection relies on Quelfire’s firestopping solutions to deliver effective firestopping to their clients.

And Bouygues UK, the client, can rest assured that their project meets compliance and regulatory requirements.

Protecting people and property

Collaboration, among other concepts, ultimately helps protect people and property. It makes the end user the priority.

In the event of a fire, passive fire protection contains the fire to its area of origin. This prevents the spread of fire and smoke, allowing time for occupants to safely evacuate and fire services to arrive.

This highlights why installers must competently install firestopping solutions in line with the test evidence and manufacturers’ guidance.

As the industry shifts and changes, the partnership between Quelfire, Ark Fire Protection, and Bouygues UK demonstrates their proactive approach to fire safety.

Their open communication and commitment to training help everyone in the project understand fire safety’s importance.

To protect property, and to save lives.
