Roy Burt

Technical Project Pipeline Manager

Meet Roy, who shares his journey from hands-on landscaping, fencing, and general building to managing the project pipeline at Quelfire.

His Story

I come from a landscaping family. After finishing school, I completed a bricklaying course and worked “on the tools” for seven to eight years, focusing on maintenance for English Heritage sites, fencing, and hard landscaping. Later, I shifted inside to focus on estimating and sales, targeting schools and the construction industry. Then, I spent six years collaborating with architects and construction sites to assist with building segregation. During this time, I also built my own house, applying the skills I had learned from the course.

What He Does

As Technical Project Pipeline Manager, I create a process to ensure all enquires are followed up and Quelfire is specified, working with architects and contractors from the initial enquiry to the specification.

What Inspires Him

I particularly enjoy focusing on ensuring we never miss an order while also keeping an eye out for potential future clients. It’s all about staying organised, proactive, and ready for what’s next.

The Quelfire Experience

What I like most about working for Quelfire is the family atmosphere, and I’m glad to still be part of the construction industry, where I can apply my new firestopping knowledge.

Off the Clock

If I don’t have any building projects on, I will usually be taking care of my sheep and chickens or heading out to the countryside with my wife and daughter.
