Polyethylene (PE) pipe is the most often used plastic pipe for underground utility construction. PE pipe is used for a variety of applications, including the distribution of pressurised natural gas, pipelines carrying petroleum and petroleum products, and underground loops for geothermal heating and cooling systems. It is also used for the distribution of compressed gases and air, potable water mains and service lines, as well as sanitary and storm sewer systems. Corrugated PE pipe is used for storm sewers and highway drainage.
