Standards & Approvals

  • Fire Tested to BS EN1366-3.

Quelfire Intumescent Fire Pillows can be used inside steel cable trunking up to 300x150mm where they penetrate fire compartment walls.

They are available in 3 different sizes allowing flexibility in choice to ensure that the trunking is fully sealed even with varying number of cables in them. The cables should not take up more than 60% of the available space inside the trunking and the Pillows should then be installed lengthways, centrally positioned within the wall or floor, filling the remaining space.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Quelfire Intumescent Fire Pillows?

They are flexible, removable firestopping products designed to reinstate the fire rating of wall and floor openings where services pass through.

How do Fire Pillows work?

They contain intumescent material that expands when exposed to fire, filling gaps and forming a dense fire barrier to stop fire from spreading.

Where are Fire Pillows typically used?

They are often used in service openings that may require future access, such as around cables in steel trunking and cable trays.

Are they suitable for use with all types of services?

They are typically used around electrical services such as cables and trays. For certain pipes, other firestopping products may be more suitable.
