With oversized holes at each floor level where the plastic HDPE pipes were penetrating the concrete floor, St Edward Homes needed a solution that would provide a 2 hour fire barrier to stop fire spreading throughout the building and to protect its residents should a fire happen to break out in one of the apartments. With thousands of plastic electric socket boxes installed in fire rated plasterboard partition systems, the contractor needed a quick and easy product to install that would maintain the fire rating and acoustic rating of the partition.
